Hi there, this is Andrea/ao3 user commovente!!! Since you're reading this, I'm guessing you got me as your recipient for Parallels; I'm so happy you're making something for me, and really excited to see what you create :D This letter is just a space for me to outline general things I like in gifts, as well as some more fandom specific stuff if that's helpful for you! By no means is any of this a set-in-stone ruleset -- feel free to go wherever you want to go for this exchange. If you had fun with it, then I'll probably really enjoy it, too. The only thing I ask is not to have anything in the "dislikes" list included in your gift if possible, please and thank you so much!!

Some things I love:

Anything canonverse; including, but not limited to: pre-/post-canon things, "missing" scenes, slice-of-life type things in general
If AU: modern/realistic settings; magical realism or supernatural elements; sci-fi/ -punk; multiverse/parallel world/reincarnation AUs; superhero/powers (mundane or otherwise); historical..... well. You get the idea. I love so many things, haha.
Introspection, character and/or relationship studies
Gen!!!! I love friendships and rivalries and also family dynamics.
Playing around with time or the structure of narratives
Friends to lovers; friends with benefits; give me any and all ambiguous relationship dynamics
Slow burn/slow build; angst with or without happy ending, so long as the angst isn't unnecessary, i.e. angst for the sake of angst
The idea of distance, whether physical or otherwise
Found families; caretaking
Flowers: imagery or symbolism or actually present in the piece, I am so weak for flower anything.
Very self-indulgent thing for hands, and breathing, the physicality of the human body, if that makes sense (?)

Some things I'd prefer not to receive/dislikes:

Cafe/coffee shop AUs are truly the only AU I can never get into to, and it continually baffles me.
Jealousy as a plot device; infidelity
An abundance of side pairings/everyone is paired together

Miyuki Kazuya

I'm so ridiculously endeared with Miyuki, like. I will literally accept anything you give that includes Miyuki with arms wide open. He's such a difficult character that contradicts himself a lot and simultaneously strives straight towards what he wants while also continuously placing other before him. Also I cry on a frequent and regular basis re: the backstory.
Please tell me all the things about him!!!
Please fuel my love-hate relationship with Miyuki's family/personal life; Miyuki's middle school days.

Kuramochi Youichi

Anything about Kuramochi's family/personal life. I'm never getting over how on his "most respected players' section in his character profile he listed Matsui Kazuo and his mom. Also, he's just? Such a good caretaker, the best friend you could ever have, whether or not you asked for it....
If shippy, I like: Kuramochi/Miyuki; Kuramochi/Sanada
Re; the KuraSana agenda..... hear me out. I know these two have only had, like, 3 seconds of canon interaction (when Sawamura was calling Kuramochi animal nicknames and Kuramochi was like, "just stick with Cheetah, damn it!" and Sanada said something to the effect of, "Is that something you're into???") but!!! Please, they'd probably be so good together. They're both so good with people, and this is like, sticking two people so unable to ignore others with each other so now.... someone's looking out for them, too. Please consider KuraSana.

Sanada Shunpei

Honestly I just think a lot about how Sanada cares so much but the gap between what he thinks/believes and how hard he actually works toward that is so... disconnected. And how that starts shifting around the further into the series you get! Especially with respect to his relationship with the Todorokis. I mean, c'mon, he used to skip out on practice to have tea with the flower arranging club, lmao.
If shippy, I like: Sanada/Kuramochi; Sanada/Miyuki
I've talked about KuraSana but also.... MiyuSana. Their drive and passion for things makes me think it'd be really interesting to see them interact together! Sanada's also the kind of person who wouldn't let Miyuki get so far into his own head, and Miyuki'd push Sanada forward, give him the motivation he needs to keep going.... Also, both of them enjoy cooking as a hobby canonically. Make of this what you will.

Okumura Koushuu

My favourite grouchy cotton fluff kid. He just wants to fight everyone and play baseball but also he struggles finishing 3 bowls of rice and calls his best friend 'Taku' and has a gentle catching style I just!!!! I am so incredibly fond of Okumura
His friendship with Seto is so important to me. Also, when will the Daikyou Senior League backstory reveal itself? Please.
If shippy, I like: Okumura/Miyuki; Okumura/Akamatsu
Why AkaOku, you ask? Well, you see, that time Akamatsu ran into Okumura and Seto and Masashi after watching a game, Akamatsu recognised them both -- "Hey, it's Okumura and Seto from Daikyou Senior League!" and Seto didn't recognise him but Okumura did. And he did the little pouty face when Seto said, "He grew a lot; I'm surprised your recognised him, Koushuu!"

Akamatsu Shinji

Akamatsu is such a smiley bundle of joy but also what's he got underneath that??? I mean that in the least disgusting way please I just don't know how to articulate things ever.
He used to play with Itsuki, and that's super interesting!! Also, two words: Inashiro shenanigans. Particularly, anything with his (possible) dynamics with Mei and/or Shirakawa.
If shippy, I like: Akamatsu/Okumura

Miyuki Kazuya's Father, Miyuki Kazuya's Mother

Muffled sobbing..... Miyuki family dynamics. Past or present, just. Miyuki family dynamics. Featuring either or both of them, with/without Kazuya.

REQUEST 2: BUNGOU STRAY DOGS
(Caught up with the anime completely, and the manga up to chapter 32. Spoilers are fine if for the sake of the story, though!)

Dazai Osamu

Literally can never guess what's going on in Dazai's head, lol. Where is the Dazai character study/motives deconstruction of my dreams.
The contrast in how he treats/treated Atsushi and Akutagawa make me scream into my fist.
If shippy, I like: Dazai/Nakahara

Nakahara Chuuya

Honestly I'll take anything about Chuuya, he's great, my fave. Especially anything that deals with the difference in his routine before/after Dazai left the Port Mafia!

Akutagawa Ryuunosuke, Higuchi Ichiyou

Akutagawa just wants Dazai to acknowledge him and Higuchi respects and admires Akutagawa so! Much! I really love seeing their interactions together. Feel free to go shippy or gen with them, I'm fine either way!

REQUEST 3: BARAKAMON

(I've finished watching the anime... a lot of times.)

Handa Seishuu, Kido Hiroshi

Okay, I only have one request for Barakamon, and that is: please indulge my never-ending need for Hiro and Handa being hella soft and sweet on each other. Please...!!

By all means, please feel free to destroy me with these two, like utterly and completely. I'm so fascinated by how Nice and Art constantly come back to each other no matter how else they or their surroundings or companions or motives change. The difference in how they approach things and their perspective of the world is also super interesting, particularly where their ideas conflict/never quite overlap.
Shippy or gen or anything in between. Truly I just love to suffer over them....

Birthday, Ratio:

I tried to think of something to say here, but mostly what comes out is me, gesturing and flailing desperately at Birthday and Ratio's backstory. There's an overarching idea of "Until you don't need me anymore, I'll be here, right beside you" with them that gets me really, really hard. It goes both ways for them, too, and honestly the use of the word 'need' blends with 'want' a lot.
And yet their banter also fills me with life. They're a real see-saw of feelings, super dynamic, and I love it :D
Shippy or gen or anything in between is great. Anything with these two is great!!
