dear creator letter // hqhols: summer 2016
hi there! ♡
since you're reading this, it's probably safe to guess you're my creator for hqhols this time around (yay!!!). i'm already super keen to see what you'll come up with, so the most important thing to me is that you have fun with what you're creating, too! also, if we aren't already, i hope we can become friends by the end of this exchange as well : D
generally speaking, whatever you feel like making is a-okay, but just in case you're stuck or want some ideas, i'll outline some things i like or would prefer not to see in general, as well as some request-specific things if that's helpful, too!
so without further ado...
a list of all my requests, as a reference:
♢ datekougyou | date tech volleyball club ( gen, --> T)
♢ yahaba shigeru, kyoutani kentarou, watari shinji ( gen, --> T)
♢ iwaizumi hajime, oikawa tooru (gen or shippy, any rating)
♢ kozume kenma, tsukishima kei (gen or shippy, any rating)
i generally love to see:
♢ anything canon compliant or set in canonverse including, but not limited to: pre-/post-canon scenes, "missing" scenes, slice of life
♢ character studies, relationship studies
♢ for AUs: i'm so not picky when it comes to AUs, you can go for almost anything here: modern, more realistic AUs; magical realism or supernatural elements AUs; multiverse or reincarnation AUs; japanese history or mythology AUs.... it's all good : ))
♢ ambiguous relationships or (if shippy) slowburn -- i love all the feelings jazz, and tend to gravitate to subtler, softer kinds of romantic development over meet-cutes
♢ the idea of distance, whether physical or otherwise
♢ flowers!! include anything at all to do with flowers & i'll probably love you forever, honestly. i love flower imagery or symbolism or the actual flowers themselves
♢ found families and/or caretaking
things i'm not so hot about:
♢ if possible, i'd really appreciate if you could avoid non-canonical death and career- and/or life-threatening injuries. which is to say, please don't just kill someone off to make things sad, omg (but if you were writing a reincarnation AU, for example, then that'd at least make sense??)
♢ jealousy as a plot device, or including any kind of infidelity
♢ when it comes to AUs: no coffee/cafe AUs, please! they're really the only kind i can never get v excited for, to my constant confusion
♢ please don't call oikawa tooru trash
♢ over-westernisation (e.g.: characters going to denny's or other franchises that... aren't in japan lmao)
♢ if you're including nsfw or sexual content: please no noncon/dubcon, or a/b/o, or adult/minor situations! everything else is game for me : ))
request 1: datekou (gen, rating up to T)
i will happily and gratefully accept anything for the iron wall kids, they're all endearing and ridiculous and i love them a lot : D also, bonus points if you include and/or put some focus on onagawa tarou, my fav pantalons!!!
request 2: yahaba shigeru, kyoutani kentarou, watari shinji (gen, rating up to T)
lmfao i'm so so so invested in next gen seijou so, even though i didn't include them in the request, i won't mind if kindaichi and/or kunimi are in here, too.... but yeah, this request is just me hankering after more of the developing dynamic between the soon-to-be seijou third years! preferably a canonverse or modern AU but i'm not super fussed : D
(p.s. i will also definitely not mind if you add in queerplatonic dynamics with these three....)
request 3: iwaizumi hajime, oikawa tooru (gen or shippy, any rating)
once an iwaoi, always an iwaoi -- these two are my hq forever pair, and i'll take whatever you're willing to give me omg. gen or shippy or something in between, it's all great!!!! i love how strong their bond is, i love how supportive they are of each other, i love how strong their individual personalities are and how that just shines even more when you put them together :D

request 4: kozume kenma, tsukishima kei (gen or shippy, any rating)
i literally only stumbled into these two because i couldn't decide which one of them i wanted to request so, naturally, my brain just went: why not both? (laughs) that said, you don't actually have to put these two together if you'd rather do a character-centric thing with just one of them! i just think they'd have a potentially really interesting dynamic to play around with, so the possibility remains open there, either as gen or shippy : )

AND that's about it. looking back thru this now, i realise i ended up going on for a long time omg, i'm so sorry, thank you so much for reading all the way until the end! i'm honestly just a highkey emotional, easily excitable soul with no sense of Precise, Direct writing whoops. i hope you have a super time with this exchange, and i look forward to seeing what you come up with (i believe in you) !!!
